While I initially joined projects led by more senior scientists, I later began securing funding as a principal investigator. However, such opportunities are limited, and the infrastructure I have access to as a full professor in Brazil—including computational tools, lab space, and even basic items like photocopiers or exam paper—is far below what I had as a graduate student in the Global North. This stark contrast highlights the deep inequalities in global research conditions.
